A little bit about myself
My name is Florentin and I am a Geomatics Engineer. This is a personal blog that I want to use to share my thoughts, work, and passion for Geomatics.

What’s the purpose?
To simply put it this is aimed to be an educational site for anyone involved in Geomatics. However, that doesn’t mean anyone else can’t enjoy it. I will aim to make the content of this website easy to read for both professionals and non-professionals.
With a background in Informatics, I often develop small tools and scripts that help me automate some of my day-to-day tasks for work. This platform will be used to share some of those tools with other people that might stumble across similar issues.
Qualifications in Geomatics
As stated above, I activate in the field of Geomatic Engineering. I started this journey back in 2008 at the Faculty of Geodesy at the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest (UTCB). Here, I have obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Geodetic Engineering in 2012. Shortly after, I have started my Master’s in Geomatics at the same institution in the fall of 2012.
My Master’s Thesis was completed under an ERASMUS Program at the Institute of Engineering Geodesy (IIGS) in Stuttgart. Here I have focused on Laser Scanning. Hence why much of the content on this website will probably revolve around Laser Scanning and Point Clouds.
